Terms of Use
Plain-language terms for using ClassicAuto. They explain what we do, what we do not do, and how our introduction service works. Last updated June 2026.
What ClassicAuto is
ClassicAuto (classicauto.io, "ClassicAuto", "we", "us") is an introduction service. We connect classic-car owners with independent, licensed local dealers. We are not a car dealer, broker, auction house, appraiser, or transport company, and we are not a party to any sale, consignment, or other transaction between you and a dealer. Anything you agree with a dealer is strictly between you and that dealer.
Dealers are independent
Every dealer in the network is an independent business, not an employee, agent, partner, or representative of ClassicAuto. We do not control their conduct, their valuations, their offers, or the terms they agree with you. The dealer’s own written agreement with you governs your transaction and controls over anything stated on this site.
Valuations are estimates, not advice
Any valuation, estimate, or figure provided through ClassicAuto or by a dealer is a non-binding opinion of value, not a formal appraisal, and not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Values are given without a full inspection and can change once a dealer examines the car in person. You should seek independent opinions before making any decision, and we encourage you to.
No guarantee of any outcome
We do not guarantee that you will receive an offer, that your car will sell, or that any sale will close at any particular price or on any particular timeline. Reaching out places you under no obligation, and there is no cost to request a valuation.
About our vetting
We select dealers in good faith and at a point in time, reviewing licensing, experience, and reputation. This vetting is not a warranty or guarantee of any dealer’s licensing status, conduct, honesty, or results. You remain responsible for your own due diligence, including verifying a dealer’s licensing and confirming you are comfortable before you transact.
Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information, and you confirm that you have the legal right and authority to sell or act for any vehicle you submit, including clear title or proper authority where the car belongs to an estate or another person. You are responsible for your own decisions.
Payment
Any sale is strictly between you and the dealer or buyer. Payment terms, methods, and timing are agreed directly between the parties. ClassicAuto does not hold, transmit, or process funds, is not a party to any transaction, and is not responsible for the decisions, delays, fees, or any dispute of any buyer, seller, or dealer. We are not liable for any outcome of a transaction.
Transport and insurance
Transport and insurance are handled by third-party providers under their own terms and policies. ClassicAuto does not provide these services, does not take custody of any vehicle, and is not responsible for the acts, omissions, or coverage of any third-party provider.
Estates and inherited collections
If you are selling on behalf of an estate or an inherited collection, you should consult the estate’s attorney, executor, and your own tax advisor before selling. ClassicAuto and the dealers in the network do not provide legal, probate, or tax advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClassicAuto is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from a transaction between you and a dealer, from any dealer’s conduct, or from any third-party provider. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or our introduction service will not exceed one hundred US dollars.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold ClassicAuto harmless from any claim or demand arising out of your use of the site, your transactions with a dealer, or your breach of these terms.
Changes
We may update the site, its features, and these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
